Covid-19 Trustee message March 2020

Message from the Trustee of the Combined Nuclear Pension Plan to our members re Covid-19 Coronavirus

As we move from the ‘contain’ to ‘delay’ phase of Covid-19 coronavirus in the UK, there is an increasing risk of disruption to services for everyone. The Trustee wants to assure you, our members, that looking after your pensions is the Trustee’s top priority.

Whilst all sensible measures are being taken to mitigate the impact of the virus and keep services running as normal, the Trustee has had to consider plans if the situation worsens. The Trustee has decided that payment of pensions must be the top priority. This means that if services are affected, the Trustee and both the DB and DC Plan administrators will be prioritising pension payments to the forefront of what we protect. This could mean that other services may be disrupted and take a little longer than usual. We hope you understand the reasons for this and ask that you bear with us. Coronavirus is affecting us all and requires us all to pull together to get through this.

Something you can do to help is that if you do have questions or enquiries, can you please check the CNPP member website first at www.cnpp.org.uk. The answer you need may already be here, so by checking the website you will potentially get a quicker answer and also help reduce the number of calls and enquiries the Plan administrators are responding to.

The Trustee continues to monitor the situation and will provide you with updates via these announcements in the coming weeks.
