About CNPP
The Combined Nuclear Pension Plan (CNPP) was set up in 2006 as the industry-wide arrangement for eligible workers in the nuclear decommissioning industry.
In 2012, the CNPP merged with the GPS and Nirex Pension Schemes and the CNPP now comprises of four main benefit structures:
Former CPS Members’ Benefit (Defined Benefit – DB) Structure
Members who were previously eligible to join the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Combined Pension Scheme (CPS).
New Joiners (Defined Contribution – DC) Structure
For all new employees who join the CNPP and members who were previously in the Defined Contribution structure of the GPS Pension Scheme.
For members who were previously in the Defined Benefits (final salary) structure of the GPS Pension Scheme.
For members who were previously in the Nirex Pension Scheme.
